Overview
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance, and support. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB and serves as an IT Business Analyst for high priority assignments and projects supporting the Michigan Department of Corrections.

We also need someone who can effectively manage multiple tasks, resolve issues, provide excellent customer service and teamwork.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with MDOC clients to develop requirements.
- Analyze data in support of projects and make recommendations for process and business flows.
- Develop consensus on both business and system requirements and champion the client’s needs.
- Ensure adherence to DTMB IT standards throughout.
- Lead the activities associated with Request for Proposals (RFP).
- Estimate costs to complete projects, establish action plans, perform impact analysis, and implement test strategies.
- Education:
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics. - Education:
Possession of an associate’s degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement. - Education:
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement. - Experience:
Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11. - Certain positions may require certification in specific information technology programs.
This position may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus of up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 will be paid upon new hire and the remainder will be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12‑month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
Position Location / Remote OfficeThe office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out‑of‑state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on‑site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.
