Cloud Engineer – Observability & Datadog SME (Full-Time, Remote)
We are looking for a hands‑on Cloud Engineer with prior experience in observability to join our Digital Ops team at Launchpad Technologies Inc. The team designs, deploys and operates 150+ cloud services, increasing the adoption of digital technologies for both internal use and customer solutions.
In this role you will focus on observability, requiring comprehensive knowledge of observability concepts and practical experience in Datadog, as well as familiarity with Azure cloud technologies, Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD. You will work closely with cross‑functional development teams using agile methodologies and tools.

Contract type: Full‑Time, Remote, Contractor
Work hours & location: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm PST – Open to professionals living in LATAM
- Own the observability parts of the cloud architecture and production operations of our digital cloud services spanning multiple continents.
- Define ways of working, runbooks, and training materials.
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert on observability – operate and leverage our platform to monitor and alert on operational issues.
- Work in a hybrid team of highly skilled Dev Ops/SRE engineers and cross‑functional development teams.
- Attend all sprint ceremonies, estimate and track work items promptly and accurately.
- Support development teams in the setup, release, and operations of services in non‑production and production environments.
- Document Dev Ops processes and write runbooks.
- Identify and implement new ways of working focused on automation and reducing unnecessary repetitive work.
- Be on‑call to triage and resolve production incidents, escalates incidents to other tiers, acts as incident commander, and run post‑mortems.
- Set, meet and report on targets for operational excellence, performance, reliability, security and costs.
- 2+ years of experience in Datadog products including configuration and cost management.
- 3+ years hands‑on experience in a Dev Ops/SRE role.
- Practical experience in Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Git Ops, Datadog and Docker.
- Preferred but not mandatory experience with ArgoCD, Azure Dev Ops CI/CD, Databricks, SQL.
- Proven experience operating and managing customer‑facing cloud solutions involving observability, 24/7 support, performance and cost optimizations, tracking and meeting SLAs.
- Experience working in remote teams independently, able to speak up and ask for help, and able to follow processes to track work and complete tasks.
- Hands‑on development experience in evaluating and building Dev Ops/SRE tooling (e.g., automation) to remove toil.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, Cloud architecture) are a great asset.
