Software Development Engineer

Our client, a leading technology organization specializing in large-scale machine learning and AI solutions, is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their team. As a Software Development Engineer, you will be part of the Training at Scale department supporting the development and automation of large-scale model training workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a passion for automation, and a collaborative mindset.

Job Title: Software Development Engineer

Location: Santa Clara, CA or Fully Remote

• Develop tools and automation to support large-scale model training on advanced hardware platforms.
• Manage and maintain nightly builds for multiple training frameworks to ensure continuous integration and delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize training workloads and expand test coverage.
• Ensure the stability and reliability of release branches, supporting biweekly release cycles.
• Track and analyze build performance and reliability metrics to improve processes continually.

• Experience with release engineering and CI/CD at scale.
• Expertise in containerization and reproducible builds, especially Docker workflows including multi-stage builds and multi-arch support.
• Strong scripting and debugging skills, with experience in build and test automation for distributed machine learning workloads.
• Proven ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and adapt to new technologies quickly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
