The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine has an open Research Investigator position in Ann Arbor, MI. The successful candidate will focus on developing novel immunomodulatory therapies targeting transcriptional regulators and ubiquitin-related enzymes. They should be able to identify mechanisms of immune evasion and translate findings into therapeutic strategies. The role involves leading efforts to refine and advance small-molecule UBA1 inhibitors towards clinical translation, including mechanism-of-action studies, biomarker development, and combination strategies with immune checkpoint inhibitors.
The candidate will also provide leadership and supervision to junior lab members.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and translating immunomodulatory therapies.
- Leading research on small-molecule UBA1 inhibitors.
- Mentoring and supervising junior staff.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD degree.
- At least 5 years of research experience.
- Hands-on leadership and supervisory experience.
- Experience in developing immunomodulatory therapies.
- Experience specifically with small-molecule UBA-1 inhibitors.
Work Mode: Hybrid or remote work options are available at the department's discretion, subject to review and change.
