SAP Engagement Director Responsibilities
The SAP Engagement Director is responsible for overseeing projects within an industry vertical for a specified set of customers. They work closely with the Vice President Delivery and the sales team to provide delivery expertise that assists in estimating project timelines and budgets. This includes identifying Syntax resources and managing those resources in the preparation of RFP responses, following up with clients on a regular basis to ensure customer satisfaction, and providing project management expertise when required (such as vacation relief or escalation).

The Engagement Director often accompanies Account Executives (AE) on sales calls to better understand project scope. They also assist the AE in ongoing client management.

The Engagement Director is the first point of escalation for any issues that cannot be resolved by a project team. They work closely with the Director, Project Management Office, the Solution Architects and the Competency Leads to determine the availability of resources for upcoming projects. They provide team coaching, evaluate performance, and reinforce Syntax’s values through actions and communication with the team.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

10+ years in Project Management within the SAP World, Consulting considered a huge asset

Completion of 3 or more full life‑cycle project implementations

5+ years of client management experience

Hands‑on functional experience in one of the SAP modules required

Experience with in the Retail and Digital Manufacturing is highly preferred

SAP Public Cloud Methodology Experience including the use of CALM

Delivery Responsibilities

Participate in the sales qualifying process for new projects

Identify a team of Syntax resources and ensure their availability to assist in responding to RFPs

Manage the team in the process of responding to RFPs, ensuring all timelines for response are met

Participate in the preparation and presentation of sales material for potential new projects

Actively participate in Steering Committee and project team meetings as required

Manage relationship with the client stakeholders to manage expectations for the solution to be delivered

Provide guidance to Syntax project manager and project team in resolving issues and escalations

Proactively manage client stakeholder satisfaction to position and secure customer reference and success story

Experience as a functional consultant an asset

Experience as a project manager an asset

Education – Degree, MBA preferred PMP an asset
