Analytics Engineer – Tesco Technology
As the Analytics Engineer on the Cyber Analytics team, you will transform raw data into organised, usable, well‑documented, and tested data models that empower security teams to draw insights and develop reporting capability, advanced analytics, machine learning, and GenAI solutions to strengthen our security defences. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional security and data teams to ensure that the security data is reliable, accurate, and accessible.
Responsibilities- Data Integration and Transformation:
Implement ETL/ELT pipelines to move data between raw, trusted, and curated data layers of the data lake supporting cyber use cases. - Data Modelling:
Implement the logical and physical data models for the cyber data products to support threat detection, incident response, and reporting. - Coding and Documentation:
Contribute to raising the quality bar by producing high‑quality code and documentation of data pipelines, models, and their quality metrics. - Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders and members of the data team, actively participating in monitoring and improving data quality.
- Strong passion for big data, data modelling, data quality, and ETL.
- Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python.
- Work‑level knowledge of ETL/ELT frameworks, data modelling, and orchestration tools like Airflow and dbt.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks on Azure, including understanding of data lakes and data warehouses.
- Practical understanding of version control systems (Git) and BI tools like Tableau.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
