Summary

This role is responsible for data modeling using Erwin in an Azure environment, working with Azure Data Factory (ADF) on a regular basis. You will be working with large enterprise data sets, and working closely with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to design/optimize data structures and flows that facilitate efficient data analysis and reporting.

• Work with business resources to identify business needs then design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the needs and support data analysis and reporting.
• Define and create ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading into the data warehouse or BI platform.
• Implement data quality checks and validation rules to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Continuously monitor and optimize data models with Erwin and database performance for efficient data retrieval and reporting.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, schemas, and related processes.
• Apply knowledge of the data in our ecosystem in internal consultations with IT and business staff who want to use this data in reporting and analytics.
• Implement data security measures and access controls to protect sensitive data.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and data management best practices.
• Apply strong skills and experience with SQL and other means to develop data queries for ad hoc reporting, data profiling, validation, trouble shooting and analysis.
• Identify and execute on new process improvement opportunities.
• Work in a highly agile development environment.
• Develop a strong understanding of the business and its systems to support the company's strategic objectives.
• Maintain up-to-date awareness of current and future directions of business industry and associated technologies.

• 5+ years of experience with Data Modeling
• Must have strong Erwin experience to create and manage Logical/physical data models
  • Also experience modeling OLAP marts, cubes etc., and understanding on data grain, slowly changing dimensions (SCDs), snowflake/star schemas, row / object level security designs
• Experience working in Azure environments, and must have experience with Azure Data Factory (more the better)
• Must have strong SQL experience

• Experience with Azure Synapse Data Marts
• T-SQL experience
• ETL experience, ideally using Talend or ADF
• Power BI experience (but not looking for a Power BI Developer)
