IT Project Manager

Professional LevelLevel 4 Manager – A Manager at 9th Way Insignia accomplishes department objectives by managing staff and processes and evaluating department activities. A Manager is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the operations and fiscal health of a unit, division, or department. Managers require skills and qualifications such as exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities- Responsible for all aspects of project performance and provides overall direction to all project activities and personnel.
- Formulate and enforce work standards, assign project schedules, review work, supervise project personnel and communicate policies and organizational goals and objectives to all project personnel.
- Provide verbal and written skills required at all management levels to maintain complete project control.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Ensure all projects adhere to federal regulations, VA policies and cybersecurity standards.
- Work with stakeholders, including VA leadership, healthcare providers, and external partners, to define project requirements and objectives.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, risks, and outcomes.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and non‑technical stakeholders, translating business needs into actionable technical solutions.
- Lead and mentor IT teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
- Identify skill gaps within the team and arrange for professional development or training.
- Ensure high‑quality and reliable delivery of IT services to VA facilities and users.
- Respond to and resolve IT incidents and outages efficiently.
- Implement processes for ongoing improvement of IT service delivery.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of IT systems that enhance VA services.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
- Oversee integration of new systems with existing VA infrastructure.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project and service delivery success.
- Provide detailed reports on project progress, financials, and outcomes to VA leadership.
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline;
Associate’s Degree and 4 years of experience; 8 years of experience in lieu of degree to meet education requirement - 6 Years of experience in Delivery Management
- Proficiency in release management methodologies
- Strong leadership and project management skills (e.g., familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or PMP certification).
- Use of Git Hub for release management
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for conveying complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high‑quality results.
- Preferred Government Experience
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
$85,318 - $118,952 USD
Clearance/Background InvestigationApplicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
