York IT Solutions is hiring SAP Techno Functional Consultant-Billing and Invoicing in contract and hybrid capacity.

Location:

Minneapolis, MN and Denver, CO. Duration: 1 year. Hourly Rate: $85.00-$100.00 an hr (Depends on Experience).

The Senior Techno-Functional Consultant applies deep functional process expertise and strong SAP IS-U system knowledge in Billing & Invoicing to translate business needs into system-enabled solutions during Customer Information System (CIS) program. Acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, this role leads requirements gathering, functional design, configuration guidance, testing support and end-to-end process validation. The Senior Consultant ensures that solutions are feasible, aligned with system capabilities, compliant with business rules and regulatory standards, and optimized for user experience and operational continuity.

This role works closely with solution consultants, architects, engineers, and program stakeholders to ensure that business processes are accurately reflected in system design and that the solution supports sustainable, high-quality operational outcomes.

• Through specialization in exception/workflow engines, configure exception lists and worklists for meter reading, billing and invoicing; define business rules for exception identification.
• Implement custom logic for exception detection and resolution.
• Through mastery of the SAP IS-U rating and billing engine, configure SAP IS-U billing module, including master data, rates, tariffs, billing cycles and customer service processes.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications for SAP IS-U billing solutions.
• Manage end-to-end billing processes such as meter-to-cash, budget billing and collective billing scenarios.
• Prepare and review billing functional specifications for customizations, enhancements and new developments.
• Lead workshops to gather requirements, validate functional processes, and define functional specifications and enhancement needs.
• Analyze business processes and map them to system capabilities, identifying gaps and recommending solution approaches.
• Troubleshoot functional issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and recommend optimization opportunities.
• Create functional documentation including process flows, requirements, functional specs, and user readiness materials.
• Collaborate with solution architects, engineers, and cross‑functional SMEs to ensure alignment across business processes, systems, and integrations.
• Support UAT, cutover activities, and go‑live readiness for functional domains.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of techno‑functional experience in enterprise systems or transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of core business processes and system‑enabled workflows.
• Experience with functional design, configuration guidance, testing, and system troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills.
• Ability to manage multiple functional tasks and collaborate cross‑functionally.
