Manager, Engineering – Infra Eng Observability (Remote, EST)

Crowd Strike is hiring a Manager of Observability to enhance our metrics and tracing infrastructure. This role requires a technical leader with experience building distributed teams and open‑source projects in large‑scale deployments.

• Manage a growing team of engineers focused on building high‑quality platforms.
• Architect large‑scale distributed tracing and metrics platforms for Crowd Strike service teams.
• Lead retrospectives, capacity planning, and regular team meetings to foster collaboration.
• Participate in “lunch‑and‑learn” demos, new POC or design sessions, and architecture reviews.
• Review, provide feedback, and approve new design proposals from the team.
• Champion flexible working practices and maintain a healthy work‑life balance.

• 8+ years of industry experience with a focus on observability, tracing (Otel, Tempo, Sentry, or similar) and metrics (Prometheus, Thanos, or similar).
• Hands‑on software development experience, preferably building Kubernetes operators in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with large‑scale, business‑critical Linux environments and cloud platforms (AWS and GCP preferred).
• Proficiency in TDD, CI/CD, chaos engineering, and other resilience practices for infrastructure development.
• Capability to operate within regulated environments, including background and fingerprint checks.

• Proven ability to lead both local and remote teams effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Independence balanced with humility, knowing when to seek help.
• Contributions to OSS projects and experience being on‑call.
• Knowledge of SRE, Dev Ops, and Git Ops practices.

Base salary range for U.S. candidates: $140,000 – $215,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
