Sr. Quality Engineer – First Dollar (Remote)

You will lead a team of QA testers/engineers to consistently deliver the highest quality solutions through SaaS and On‑Premises models. Your expertise in AI‑enabled testing will accelerate development workflows and improve code quality.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the development of the QA strategy, methodology, framework, and discipline.
  • Provide technical expertise in Test Automation, methodologies, processes, tools, and techniques across teams.
  • Define QA strategy and approach for development projects and lead the QA team.
  • Coach and develop the team, ensuring testing skill sets stay current.
  • Drive continuous QA improvements using appropriate testing tools and test techniques.
  • Build and maintain quality standards and enforce technical and testing standards.
  • Monitor QA activities, test results, defect leakage, root cause analysis, and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure efficient use of testing tools for functional, performance, automation, etc.
  • Manage training and continuous learning through courses, conferences, certifications.
  • Address escalations in testing and quality assurance, serving as the primary point of contact.
  • Collaborate with development to develop and execute QA strategies that meet or exceed corporate goals.
  • Gather and present testing metrics and activities to key stakeholders.
  • Work with business partners such as Customer Support, Client Services, and Operations to incorporate feedback into QA.
  • Facilitate cross‑team and inter‑team communication across agile projects.
  • Balance best practice decisions with business value and deliver high priority tasks.
  • Plan and estimate detailed testing tasks during sprint planning.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test cases within a defined framework.
  • Translate manual regression test cases into automated tests and ensure they pass nightly builds.
  • Use static code analysis for test case readability and coverage.
  • Conduct code reviews and analysis of automation code.
  • Maintain regression test suite and test data.
  • Support timely releases and adherence to release activities.
  • Encourage a development community and promote best practices.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and design documents to provide feedback.
  • Track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
  • Stay current with new testing tools and strategies.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5‑7 years of experience in software development with 5 years managing a QA team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • QA testing certifications (CSTE, CSQA, CAST) or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban; specialization in performance, security, automation, release management, and agile training.
  • Hands‑on expertise with automation tools, frameworks, and standard methodologies.
  • Proven experience in test planning, design, execution, and automation strategy.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, and cloud technologies.
  • UI and API automation experience (JMeter, Blaze Meter, Postman, Python 3.x, Pytest, Selenium, Browser Stack, MABL).
  • Agile tools exposure (JIRA, Confluence, GIT, X‑Ray).
  • CI/CD tools knowledge (Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Spinnaker).
  • Data validation and quality testing.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
  • Experience with APIs, web services, SaaS/PaaS cloud platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with Jira, SDLC, XML, JavaScript, .NET framework, T‑SQL, JQuery, JSON, SQL.
  • Practical AI experience using tools like Git Hub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude for prototyping, debugging, and problem‑solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI responsibly as a productivity multiplier while maintaining engineering judgment.
Pay Range

$91,000–$111,000 per year

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation varies by location, skills, and experience. It may include incentive and bonus opportunities. Benefits include healthcare, 401(k) savings plan, company holidays, paid time off, parental leave, and an employee assistance program.
