Senior North America Campaign Coach

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Coach to advance progressive movements through online and offline organizing, with a focus on BIPOC communities. This full-time role offers growth and impact, with support, mentoring, and training to tackle new tools and tactics. The position may start part-time or hourly for 1–3 months for candidates, with potential to become full-time.

Social Movement Technologies’ (SMT) mission is to provide organizing strategy, training, and campaign support to build people-power for justice and to win in the digital age. SMT is a non-profit/NGO movement support group that engages with hundreds of groups and unions across eleven years, training staff and activists with a focus on digital campaigning that amplifies in-person action.

• Provide coaching support to groups in targeted areas where you have experience
• Identify ways to support the development of BIPOC online/offline campaigners and coordinate this support
• Develop new online training in targeted areas where you have experience
• Provide campaign strategy and implementation support for partner groups, including in-depth support during key campaign moments
• Stay informed about new digital tools, test options, and help SMT guide groups in selecting effective solutions
• For senior applicants, potentially co-lead SMT’s work across North America and shape new projects to meet movement needs

• Minimum of three years of relevant campaign experience with high-level responsibility including digital components
• Strong campaigning instincts: building power, messaging that moves, and a clear plan to achieve goals
• Organizer mindset applied to digital tools, with experience in volunteer or full-time organizing roles
• Experience running issue campaigns and creating assets (memes, design, messaging) or setting up ads, with experience in smaller teams
• Self-motivated, able to break down large projects, manage multiple initiatives, and collaborate with the team

• Experience coaching and training staff and leaders from organizing groups
• Experience with Action Network or similar CRM/tools, online advertising tools, peer-to-peer and broadcast texting, email targeting and evaluation, and using social media to drive action

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $75,000–$120,000, depending on experience and location in North America. SMT adjusts compensation based on cost of living and offers health care contribution, 401K employer matching, sick leave, 3+ weeks of vacation, and federal holidays (additional vacation time may be arranged with a salary adjustment). Remote work support and mentoring are provided.

SMT is a 100% remote organization; team members are worldwide and collaborate via video, Slack, and project management tools.

Remote/Virtual work; no commute or relocation required.
