MissionThe Tech Lead bridges business objectives with technical execution. It is a hybrid role combining hands‑on engineering, architectural leadership and team enablement. The Tech Lead drives the implementation and delivery of engineering initiatives, ensuring high standards of reliability, performance and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the technical point of accountability for the Service Market Making Business Unit.
- Partner with the Head of Engineering to own delivery of entire work‑streams, aligning architecture with business strategy.
- Contribute directly through coding while focusing on architecture design, peer reviews and cross‑functional communication.
- Mentor and develop engineers through coaching and technical guidance, fostering growth and autonomy.
- Guide system design to ensure scalability, resilience and performance across applications and infrastructure.
- Uphold engineering best practices, enforce coding guidelines and embed automation in the delivery pipeline.
- Manage technical debt, lead refactoring initiatives and ensure long‑term maintainability.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and QA to define scope, refine requirements and plan delivery.
- Anticipate and mitigate technical risks and dependencies to safeguard delivery timelines.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in a technical leadership position guiding teams, shaping architecture and delivering complex projects.
- Expertise in architecting and maintaining high‑concurrency, low‑latency trading systems at scale.
- Advanced proficiency in Rust; knowledge of Node.js/Type Script and Python is a plus.
- Experience with data‑intensive architectures and real‑time data pipelines.
- Track record deploying, optimising and operating AWS environments for ultra‑low‑latency workloads.
- Hands‑on experience with containerising applications and managing Kubernetes clusters in production.
- Familiarity with Git Ops workflows and Agile/Dev Ops principles.
- Knowledge of Dev Sec Fin Ops to embed security, compliance and cost governance throughout delivery.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, partnering with Product, Architecture, Quantitative Research and Operations.
- Analytical and problem‑solving mindset; passion for building scalable, reliable and secure systems.
- Deep domain knowledge of finance and trading, particularly in cryptocurrency.
- Experience in fast‑paced fintech or financial environments is highly desirable.
