Enterprise Data Architect (Remote)

OverviewWe need a highly skilled, collaborative Data Architect to shape how data is organized, governed, and used across the organization. The role will drive enterprise data strategy, modern architecture, and data‑centric solutions that deliver business value.
Responsibilities- Enterprise Data Strategy & Road mapping
- Work with Data Strategy teams to align technical capabilities with business needs.
- Create data capability maps and domain‑aligned data models.
- Act as a Strategic Partner supporting AI/ML initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for data reuse, integration, and optimization.
- Champion data products that bridge engineering and business teams.
- Lead the Enterprise Data Architecture design and documentation.
- Enable AI/data‑ready solutions using trusted sources at scale.
- Support real‑time reporting with Power BI and other tools.
- Evaluate new technologies to enhance data agility.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Represent Data teams across the enterprise and advocate for data standards.
- Partner with business, product, marketing, supply chain, and digital commerce leaders.
- Translate business goals into technology solutions and roadmaps.
- Collaborate on AI use cases that deliver tangible value.
- Guide integration with enterprise platforms and external partners.
- Provide architectural guidance from requirement to post‑deployment support.
- Data Governance & Compliance
- Implement AI‑First Governance and security frameworks.
- Drive data classification, lineage, and stewardship practices.
- Promote privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA, PCI).
- Platform & Integration Guidance
- Define standards for consuming data from enterprise platforms.
- Create reusable integration patterns.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security of data solutions.
- Documentation & Enablement
- Produce architectural artifacts (flow diagrams, reference architectures).
- Educate stakeholders on data architecture principles.
- Mentor and train other architects and teams.
- Maintain architectural standards and design patterns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 10+ years of technical leadership, retail experience a plus.
- Expertise in enterprise data architecture, data modeling, metadata management, and integration.
- Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks), cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), and streaming (Kafka, Spark).
- Hands‑on design of production‑ready cloud platforms and AI/ML model deployment.
- Experience with data governance tools and semantic models.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
- Knowledge of retail industry trends and best practices.
- Familiarity with Generative and Agentic AI components.
- Enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman).
- Architecture software tools for data architecture.
- Background in business intelligence, analytics, or data science.
- Exposure to data mesh, data fabric, and modern metadata management.
