Our Analytics team sits within the UCD & Insights Capability and primarily works in the public sector, supporting initiatives that improve society and the lives of citizens, as well as working with not‑for‑profit organisations, charities, social enterprises and select private‑sector companies. Key sectors include education, apprenticeships & skills development, social care, rehabilitation, housing and criminal justice.
Responsibilities- Create dashboards using tools such as Looker Studio, Power BI or Amazon Quick Sight.
- Write SQL queries to transform and analyse data; optionally use Python.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop meaningful insights that inform decision‑making on government policy, digital product strategy or user experience.
- Define, analyse and visualise KPIs and goals for government digital services (performance analysis).
- Advise clients on analytics tools, data availability, governance, skills and outcomes.
- Participate in the analytics community of practice, contributing to training and sharing expertise.
- Optionally coach and train teams as a performance coach or informal on‑the‑job supporter.
- Advanced SQL knowledge (complex joins, CTEs, analytic functions, scripting).
- Experience with a data visualisation tool (Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau, Amazon Quick Sight, etc.) and ability to articulate data stories.
- Track record of enabling data‑driven decision‑making, either through technical solutions or by empowering stakeholders.
- Strong relationship management, emotional intelligence, mediation and expectation management.
- Excellent communication skills – listening, verbal and written, capable of conveying nuanced data narratives and handling sensitive conversations.
- Adaptability: adjusting technical, leadership and role approaches to suit varied client contexts.
