** POSITION OVERVIEW
** K is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Cloud Dev Ops Engineer to lead the rapid migration of physical infrastructure to AWS cloud environments. In this role, you will drive large-scale “lift and shift” initiatives, moving on-premises systems and workloads to the cloud quickly and efficiently. After initial migration, you will architect and implement strategies to modernize these workloads over time, leveraging cloud-native services and automation to enhance scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
As part of a global leader in science, technology, and engineering solutions, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, advancing our cloud transformation journey and supporting mission-critical objectives.
** RESPONSIBILITIES
* ** Lead rapid “lift and shift” migrations of physical and legacy infrastructure to AWS, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
* Develop and execute migration plans, including assessment, planning, and implementation of cloud migration strategies.
* Collaborate with solution architects and design teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant AWS cloud solutions.
* After migration, drive modernization efforts by refactoring, rearchitecting, and automating workloads to take advantage of AWS cloud-native services.
* Develop and maintain tools for provisioning, monitoring, auditing, and de-provisioning AWS infrastructure using Python, Ansible, and other automation tools.
* Manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure technologies using industry-standard tools like Jenkins and Git Lab Runners.
* Incorporate Fin Ops principles into AWS cloud strategies, ensuring cost optimization and operational efficiency.
* Mentor and lead junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
** REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE**
* ** Must be a U.S. Citizen
*** 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, Dev Ops, or systems administration, with a strong focus on AWS technologies.
* Proven experience leading “lift and shift” migrations and subsequent modernization of workloads in AWS.
* In-depth knowledge of AWS Security, Network Controls, and FedRAMP compliance requirements.
* Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
* Proficiency in configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
* Expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Bash/Shell, Power Shell for infrastructure automation.
* AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer – Associate (required).
* At least one AWS Specialty or Professional certification (required), such as: + AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional + AWS Certified Security – Specialty + AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty + AWS Certified Database – Specialty
** PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
*** Multiple AWS Specialty or Professional certifications (preferred), such as those listed above.
* Experience engineering and deploying public sector solutions.
* Expertise with AWS services such as S3, Cloud Front, EKS, Lambda, Aurora Serverless DB, and AWS Batch.
* Experience incorporating Fin Ops principles into AWS cloud strategies.
** Special Requirements
*** Three years of continuous U.S. residency for government security credential.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation for government facility access.
* Experience and/or education in lieu of these qualifications may be considered.
