Job Overview

Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly experienced Cyber Security Engineer to provide services including strategic planning and policy development, adherence to security policies for Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) operations, and advisory assistance to protect sensitive technologies.

The individual will work closely with the U.S. Space Force Space Based Interceptor (SBI) Program Management Office and coordinate across multiple DoD organizations including the Missile Defense Agency. The SME will function in a multi‑level classified environment to include SAP and SCI.

Location:

Huntsville, Alabama or Colorado Springs, Colorado.

• Ensure adherence to and develop strategic and operational security policies for protecting sensitive technologies and classified information related to critical national security projects.
• Advise customers on security policies and procedures for obtaining and maintaining SAP and SCI accesses.
• Provide expertise on procedures for accreditation for connectivity between multiple classified networks and facilities.
• Liaise with other security offices, company, and government leadership to implement policies, processes, and enhanced security protocols.
• Advise on Assessment and Authorization of Information Technology systems.
• Identify, report, and address deficiencies in support of regulatory compliance.
• Assist planners in identifying Operations Security (OPSEC) indicators and implement OPSEC measures.
• Interpret and implement security guidance for classification management and safeguarding requirements.
• Assist in developing and implementing SAP and SCI security education and training programs tailored to specific unit requirements.

• Bachelor’s in Information Technology or related field with 12 years of applicable cyber security experience; or Master’s with 10 years of related experience.

• 12+ years of technical experience in IT, cybersecurity, and/or systems engineering.
• Experience with industrial, personnel, physical, and cyber security programs.
• Experience working in cloud and containerization.
• Hands‑on SAP experience in the past 8 years.
• Demonstrated experience assessing and mitigating risk to networks through threat and vulnerability identification.
• Deep understanding of ICS 705 requirements and technology required to meet those standards.

• Understanding of cybersecurity needs of systems at varied stages of the system life cycle.
• Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation.
• Experience working on‑site in a government client environment.
• Cloud security implementation experience.
• Familiarity with NSA COMSEC requirements.
• Familiarity with system security engineering processes to various client programs.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to drive projects to closure and assimilate project information in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Active Top‑Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility; U.S. Citizenship required.
• SAP eligibility highly desired.

• This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.
• Remote work is very limited.
• May require up to 20% U.S. continental travel.

Pay range for this position in Colorado only is $120,000 to $190,000 per year. Base pay may vary based on contract wages, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
