Job Description

Silverthorne Advisory Group is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Senior Engineer to join an exciting and growing opportunity within the Defense sector. As a Senior Engineer, you’ll apply your problem solving ability and technical skills to help organizations use their data to drive a real impact. Our customers rely on Palantir’s platforms for some of their most critical operations and analytics.

Your day might span discussing architecture with fellow engineers, wrangling massive-scale data, coding a custom web app, speaking with customer executives, or establishing strategy for your team.

Responsibilities
  • Translate complex workflows into scalable solutions on Palantir Foundry, AIP, and the Ontology.
  • Design and implement data pipelines using Pipeline Builder and Code Repositories to build a robust, governed data foundation.
  • Model in Ontology using objects, links, Action Types, and Functions.
  • Build decision-centric operational applications using Workshop, OSDK, and Quiver, focused on business value and KPIs.
  • Develop and deploy safe and effective AI agents using AIP Agent Studio, Logic, Evals, and Observability tools.
  • Collaborate with Palantir’s FDSEs and internal domain teams to ensure scalability, reuse, and measurable ROI.
Requirements
  • Overall 4+ years of experience building data-driven products.
  • Must have 2+ years hands‑on in Palantir Foundry, AIP or Ontology.
  • Proficient with Transform API within Foundry.
  • Proficient with batch, real time use case realization in Foundry using Pipeline Builder.
  • Must have implementation experience with objects, links, actions, and functions in the Ontology with the ability to structure and relate data using the Object Data Layer.
  • Ability to design dynamic and interactive workflows, leveraging Workshop’s events system and layouts.
  • Implementing complex logic using custom Functions (e.g., Python, Type Script) within Workshop widgets.
  • Strong coding experience in Python, PySpark, Type Script, and SQL proficiency.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • DoD Secret clearance or higher required (can be sponsored).
What Sets You Apart:
  • Palantir Foundry Data Engineer Certification preferred.
  • Foundry Solution Architect certification preferred.
  • Foundry Application Developer certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with Spark, Databricks, or similar distributed processing frameworks.
  • Advanced degree or certifications in cloud computing, AI/ML, data engineering, or solution architecture.
  • Experience with event‑driven architectures, API integrations, CI/CD, and infrastructure‑as‑code in cloud environments.
  • Effective communicator with a systems‑thinking mindset and ability to translate business workflows into scalable solutions.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to solve complex data‑related issues.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and leveraging big data technologies to process and analyze data efficiently.
  • Understanding of data modeling/visualization, database design principles, and data governance practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high‑quality results.
