Tech Flow is seeking a skilled Dev Ops / Cloud Engineer to support a key federal program driving innovation in IT portfolio management. In this role, you'll design, secure, and maintain cloud infrastructure while automating the deployment and operation of mission-critical applications. Working closely with development, operations, and security teams, you'll implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and advanced monitoring solutions to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance.

The Dev Ops / Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, securing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and automating the deployment and operation of applications managed by the CPIC PMO. This role collaborates closely with development, operations, and security teams to build and manage continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, implement infrastructure as code, and deploy monitoring and logging solutions. The Engineer ensures that cloud environments are reliable, scalable, secure, and optimized for performance, while driving process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
Expertise with cloud platforms, containerization, automation tools, and security best practices is essential to support agile development and mission‑critical IT portfolio management goals.
* This is a remote position but will require support on site at client location Washington DC on occasion.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical federal IT portfolio management applications.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, test, and deployment processes in alignment with Agile delivery practices.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible to enable repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure deployment.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration, automation, and compliance across environments.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and cost efficiency while proactively identifying and resolving operational issues.
- Implement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, logging, and vulnerability mitigation.
- Deploy and manage monitoring, alerting, and observability tools to ensure proactive detection and resolution of performance and reliability issues.
- Support application containerization using Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Amazon ECS/EKS.
- Conduct system tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery activities to ensure high availability and resilience.
- Document architecture, procedures, and configurations to support transparency, audit readiness, and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Drive continuous improvement of Dev Ops processes, tools, and automation strategies to enhance delivery speed and system reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in Dev Ops, cloud engineering, or systems administration, preferably supporting federal or enterprise-scale applications.
- Proven experience designing and managing infrastructure in major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions, or Azure Dev Ops.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Formation.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS).
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, compliance frameworks, and federal cybersecurity standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST SP 800‑53).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Cloud Watch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
