Location:

Toronto, Ontario (We are located near King Station and work in-office 2 days a week)

Contract: 4 Month Term from May - August 2026 - Full Time, 40 Hours per Week Monday to Friday.

Compensation: CAD $21.00/hour

Position

Orix is looking for a Student Human Resources Assistant for the Summer to join our Team developing Health & Safety procedures and tools, onboarding practices, along with supporting day-to-day HR administration and other projects as needed. Qualifications

  • Currently in a Human Resources Management Degree or Post-Graduate program (University or College) or similar, returning to school in the Fall;
  • Ability to work from home and commute to our Toronto office location;
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook and Excel;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of H&S systems and Learning and Development strategies and practices;
  • Self-starter, ability to thoroughly review information with a high attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and attain information from others;
  • Ability to communicate professionally and concisely in emails and in presentations and related materials;
  • Previous experience in Human Resources or in office administration working with sensitive information is a definite asset;

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Tracking/File Management
    • Employee file upkeep and general filing;
    • Acknowledgement Tracking & Filing;
    • Tracking and coordinating training for compliance and safety;
    • New Hire onboarding paperwork tracking and filing;
    • WSIB, Incident Report and Hazard Report tracking, H&S Metrics, Monthly HR Reporting, Thank You Note tracking
    • Update and maintain HR Database
    • Update and maintain company Organizational Chart
  • Health & Safety
    • Communicate and develop Safe Work Practices in consultation with senior geologists;
    • Assist in the development and rollout of a Job Hazard /policy and Risk Registry for field use;
    • Manage field inventory for Toronto staff.
  • Onboarding/Recruitment
    • Be main point of contact for creating, managing and tracking job postings and screening resumes for further interviews;
    • Filing and maintaining candidate and job post database for compliance;
    • Conduct preliminary screening interviews with junior-intermediate candidates;
    • Submit top candidates for consideration to hiring team; coordinate interviews as directed;
    • Prepare and send out interview kits with candidate resume and interview guide;
    • Assist in the further development of interview guides and Orix’s recruitment process.
