The expected base salary range for this position is $52,470 -$81,500. This salary range may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, education, and geographic location.
Job SummaryThe Benefits Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration and support of the Company’s employee benefit programs. Their responsibility is to address inquiries from the employees, help resolve employee benefits and claims questions, assist with benefits reporting and benefits updates. The position requires working knowledge of benefit plan provisions, policies, and procedures and operates with a moderate level of guidance from more senior team members.
The Benefits Specialist serves as a key point of contact for employee inquiries and ensures accurate, timely benefits administration and issue resolution.
- Assist with the administration and ongoing monitoring of all benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans and voluntary benefits.
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for employee benefit questions, providing accurate information, guidance, and support to employees and HR colleagues.
- Oversee and support leave of absence and ADA accommodation programs, including FMLA, state-mandated leaves, paid parental leave, short- and long-term disability, and related policy updates, in coordination with internal and external partners.
- Coordinate benefits orientation sessions for new hires, and support annual open enrollment process, including developing communication materials, and conducting employee education sessions. Assist employees in understanding their benefits options.
- Maintain accurate benefits records and documentation in HRIS and benefits administration systems; ensure compliance with internal controls and data integrity standards.
- Complete timely and accurate processing of benefits-related tasks such as enrollments, terminations, changes, and COBRA administration.
- Foster relationships with benefits providers, brokers, and consultants. Address and resolve any issues or concerns with vendors.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes related to leave of absence and adapt programs as necessary. Draft and/or recommend revisions to company leave policies to remain compliant.
- Complete special projects by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling required transactions.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; in lieu of degree, candidates with a minimum of 7 years of experience in benefits, leave administration, and ADA accommodations will be considered.
- Certifications in Human Resources, or benefits (e.g., Certified Benefits Professional) are a plus.
