The Spirit of the Position:

The Human Resources Intern will support the HR team with projects and initiatives across talent acquisition, employee engagement, compliance, and learning & development. This internship provides hands‑on experience in the HR field, exposure to a multi‑state HR team, and the opportunity to gain practical skills in a fast‑paced, people‑focused organization.

As a company devoted to promoting an employee‑focused servant leadership culture, the Human Resources Intern will support the programs and initiatives originating from our home office and help to support the individual needs of their operational teams throughout their assigned region.

Principal

Job Duties:
  • Partner with HR leaders on projects such as training coordination, compliance audits, and process improvement.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR and Talent Acquisition teams, including data entry, reporting, and file management.
  • Support the onboarding process by preparing materials, coordinating orientations, and ensuring compliance with new‑hire documentation.
  • Conduct research and assist in the development of HR best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including job postings, applicant tracking, scheduling interviews, and candidate communication.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and communication campaigns.
  • Participate in meetings with Human Resources Generalists and Business Partners and gain exposure to multi‑state HR practices.
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in Human Resources and a desire to learn about multiple facets of the profession.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the student will:

  • Gain exposure to HR operations in a large, multi‑state organization.
  • Develop practical HR skills in recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and employee engagement.
  • Build professional communication and project management skills.
  • Understand the role HR plays in supporting both employees and business strategy.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 10 pounds.
