A HR administrator is needed for up to 6 months assisting the busy HR team with the upkeep of employee databases which are a combination of integrated HR & Payroll systems, DBS applications and internal manual records using Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel. Whilst the initial priority will be on administrative support to HR Officers, the role may develop to include entry level HR functions, such as managing absence, undertaking recruitment and providing basic advice on terms and conditions.
The role is for 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 2 days are based in the Tonypandy office and 3 days working from home. Initially more time may be required in the office with colleagues whilst training.
Purpose of the postAs a Human Resources Assistant, the postholder will assist and support the Human Resources Adviser in day to day operational human resource activities, providing advice to Managers and staff.
What you will deliver- To undertake direct day-to-day operational human resource activities and provide an advisory service on best practice to the allocated service area:
- Recruitment and selection issues
- Conditions of service queries
- Assisting with discipline and grievance matters
- Assist the H.R. Adviser in the operation of Employment Relations issues.
- Responsible for processing human resource and payroll information via the Vision system.
- Assist the H.R. Adviser in ensuring that the section applies consistency in best employment practice and compliance with national and European Legislation.
- Assist the H.R. Adviser in ensuring that equal opportunities considerations are mainstreamed into H.R. activities including the promotion of positive action initiatives.
- Basic 1-2-1 training, support and advice to team members.
- Monitoring and reacting to performance information.
- Any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade and appropriate to the postholder’s remit within the organisation as determined by the Human Resources Adviser or as a mutually agreed development opportunity.
- Essential: Knowledge of Human Resources services.
- Desirable: Willingness to work towards the CIPD qualification;
Firm commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
- Essential: Experience in Human Resources background including day-to-day operational activities.
- Desirable: Experience in Local Government.
