About the position

The Talent & Learning Expert is a key member of the Americas HR team, reporting directly to the Talent & Learning Lead for the Americas. In this role, you will bring deep Center of Excellence expertise to enable business performance through talent, capability, and leadership development. The purpose of this role is to design, build, implement, and continuously improve Talent & Learning solutions that help attract, develop, and retain talent.

You will partner closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners, and the global Talent & Learning organization to translate global strategy into impactful regional solutions. You will balance global frameworks with targeted local initiatives that address the unique needs of front office, control, and support functions across the Americas.

This role offers visibility and ownership and reports directly to the Talent & Learning Lead for the Americas.

About the department

The Talent & Learning team is part of the Americas Human Resources organization and plays a central role in building the capabilities needed to deliver ING’s strategic ambitions.

As a Center of Excellence, the team partners closely with HR Business Partners, business leaders, and global Talent & Learning colleagues to create a strong, inclusive, and future‑focused talent and learning culture. We design and implement solutions that strengthen leadership, develop critical skills, enable high performance, and support meaningful career growth across Wholesale Banking in the Americas.

Responsibilities Strategic Talent & Capability Partnering
  • Build a strong understanding of business priorities, workforce challenges, and future skill needs across the Americas.
  • Identify opportunities for capability building, performance improvement, leadership effectiveness, and cultural development.
  • Act as a thought partner to HR and business leaders on talent, skills, and learning strategies.
Learning Strategy & Delivery
  • Shape and execute the regional learning agenda in alignment with global Talent & Learning priorities and business strategy.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, HR, and global CoE partners to foster a strong, sustainable learning culture.
  • Design, plan, execute, and operationalize high‑impact learning programs for diverse populations.
  • Capture and analyze learning data and trends to continuously improve program quality, relevance, and impact.
Talent Management & Leadership Enablement
  • Drive the implementation of global and Wholesale Banking‑wide talent initiatives across the Americas.
  • Lead the annual talent review cycle end‑to‑end, ensuring consistency, quality, and meaningful business outcomes.
  • Translate business strategies into clear talent, succession, and skill‑building plans.
  • Equip leaders with the data, insights, and tools needed for effective people decisions and team development.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • 5+ years of experience designing and delivering end‑to‑end Talent & Learning solutions, ideally within financial services.
