HR Adviser

Location:

Folkestone

Salary: £27,827 (based on 40 weeks a year)

Hours:

37hrs per week, term time plus 2 additional weeks (40 weeks a year) and 1 day working from home.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a forward‑thinking and experienced HR Adviser to join their supportive and high‑performing HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional HR support. Working primarily across school sites, with flexibility to work from home one day a week, you will play a key role in providing expert HR guidance across a broad range of people matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional, high‑quality HR advice to managers and employees.
  • Support organisational change processes and ensure accurate administration throughout.
  • Manage employee relations matters including absence, performance, grievance, and disciplinary cases.
  • Coach and guide leaders on employment practices, HR policies and procedures.
  • Lead and support HR projects, audits, recruitment, and induction processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee data, ensuring full compliance with GDPR and safeguarding standards.
  • Analyse HR reports, track KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate investigations, produce reports, and advise on appropriate next steps.
  • Support performance management, appraisals, probation monitoring and exit interviews.
About You
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards).
  • Strong knowledge of HR legislation and best practice.
  • Demonstrable experience in a busy HR environment, ideally within education.
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building and coaching skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident using HR systems with meticulous attention to detail.
