Schedule: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm (hybrid, work from home 1 - 2 days/week)

Pay: $24/hr - $29/hr DOE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our client's team in the east valley! The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of multi-state payroll processing and compliance requirements. This position will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our client's employees across multiple states, as well as handling certified payroll functions as needed.

This is a long term, onsite opportunity in Phoenix. The hours are Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm. Compensation is between $24/hr - $29/hr DOE

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll accurately and on time for employees across multiple states, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll laws and regulations, especially those related to multi-state payroll processing.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of certified payroll reports as required for government contracts.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll processing.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on multi-state payroll.
  • Experience processing payroll through ADP
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with certified payroll processes is a plus.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
