This dynamic position works alongside a team of Benefit Specialists and is perfect for an independent self‑starter that enjoys working with and educating employees on their benefits & leaves.

Working hybrid in Anchorage on the UAA campus, Benefits Specialists are the trusted benefits & leaves resource to all UA employees. Customer service, education, and training are cornerstones of the department whether working with new hires, supporting current employees as their needs evolve, or helping employees prepare for retirement.

Responsibilities

Customer service, education, and training are cornerstones of the department. Benefits Specialists work with new hires, support current employees as their needs evolve, and help employees prepare for retirement. The role requires independent workload management, teamwork, collaboration, a customer‑service mindset, and a commitment to personal and team growth.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR, benefits, or related activities.
Position Details

This is a full‑time, exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
