Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Academic Personnel, responsible for the administration of academic personnel matters within the college, across departments and campus units and in cooperation with campus Academic Personnel administration. Provide analytical support to the college administration and departmental leadership pertaining to all academic personnel matters. The position works with a wide diversity of academic positions including:
Academic Federation personnel;
Post doctoral scholars; and international and visiting scholars.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Experience performing the full range of academic personnel functions including policy interpretation in a unionized higher education setting; coordinating personnel appointments of academics (senate and non-senate faculty, RA unit, postdocs, and visitors) and knowledge of payroll matters.
- Experience with merit and promotion; dossier preparation and review, recruitment, selection and retention; classification and compensation administration, and employee and labor relations of academic employees and using online academic tracking systems such as MIV, APHID, OATS, Recruit.
- Experience managing projects and multiple tasks, perform in a fast-paced environment, planning and coordinating assignments, adapting to changing priorities, meeting deadlines; managing high volume of email; and maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
- Quantitative analytical and critical thinking skills to gather information, research, evaluate and analyze complex data and policy from a wide variety of sources and apply problem-solving skills in an objective manner, prepare budgets, present statistical and financial information in appropriate and understandable formats for business planning and evaluation.
- Communication, customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students and others. Writing, editing, and proofreading skills to draft informational materials for clear, concise dissemination. Skills to edit copy for grammar, spelling, and punctuation with attention to detail.
- Experience utilizing standard business software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and standard email programs such as Outlook.
- Knowledge of payroll/personnel systems, including on-line systems, preferably UC Path, Decision Support, Aggie Enterprise, People Admin.
- Must maintain a high degree of discretion, integrity, and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy.

CA&ES is a large and complex unit engaged in teaching, research, outreach, extension and service. CA&ES academic and staff personnel management is dynamic, complex and multi-faceted. The college is composed of 15 departments and numerous centers, institutes, and affiliated units located on the Davis campus and at off-site locations. The college has approximately 550 academic senate/federation appointees (project scientists, specialists in CE, specialists, academic coordinators/administrators, adjunct professors, etc.),
30 MSP and 1500 staff in career, contract, limited term and casual positions. Provide support for all actions pertaining to academic personnel matters.
