Talent Manager, Recruiter
Responsibilities
The bilingual Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for screening, interviewing, and hiring roles within the distribution centres across Canada, as well as keeping up to date on legislation that impacts recruiting. This role is responsible for attracting and recruiting top talent to allow the business to achieve its company goals and objectives. As the first point of contact, this role provides a professional, welcoming, and informative candidate experience that reflects the company values.
This position is a hybrid role based in Mississauga, requiring three days onsite and two days of remote work.
Position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Work closely with hiring managers to determine hiring needs for hourly and entry level salaried positions
- Source candidates using a variety of search methods to build a strong candidate pipeline for both hourly and entry level salaried employees
- Monitor internal and external careers sites to ensure all postings are current and active
- Screen candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications and perform phone screenings
- Ensure all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and regulations across Canada
- Participate in career and job fairs and collaborate on recruitment initiatives
- Make job offers and prepare and send out the offer package
- Work with HR team to facilitate orientation and onboarding of new employees
- Other projects or duties as assigned
Required skills and experience:
- Completion of degree from a recognized post‑secondary school specializing in Human Resources
- 1‑2 years of recruiting experience, preferably in a high‑volume environment
- Must be bilingual in French and English
- Proven success delivering recruiting results individually or as part of a team in a fast‑paced, demanding, high‑growth environment
- Strong customer‑management skills with ability to build trust and credibility with both candidates & hiring managers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- This position must pass a post‑offer background check
Preferred skills and experience:
- HR diploma or degree is preferred
- Experience understanding transportation, general labour, shipping/receiving and/or various warehouse hiring is preferred
- Experience using recruiting software an asset
