Maui Hands operates three retail art gallery locations on the island of Maui, featuring a wide selection of art created by local Hawai’i artisans. We are looking for a bookkeeper to join our team and support both our bookkeeping, and human resources functions. We are a team of folks that is passionate about facilitating the experience of a customer finding a great piece of art they really connect with.

• Bookkeeping
• Monthly bank reconciliation
• Monthly bookkeeping and internal financial statement preparation
• Bill payments
• GET and income tax filings
• Maintain connections to other systems and processes
• Continuous improvement initiatives
• Human Resources
• Payroll processing
• Benefits management
• Human resources filings and compliance management
• Employee onboarding and offboarding
• Human resources point of contact for employees

• Experienced bookkeeper using Quickbooks online
• Experience with retail industry bookkeeping practices, technology and tools an asset
• Experience with Hawaii state human resources requirements including payroll, benefits, and filings an asset
• Willing to take on new challenges and projects to continuously improve systems and processes
• Strong communication skills, and ability to collaborate with others
