Our client leads a dynamic hospitality enterprise with a distinctive mix of boutique lodging properties, culinary destinations, nightlife venues, and entertainment spaces across multiple states. From midday festivities to vibrant weekend gatherings by the pool, they design exceptional experiences while cultivating welcoming, inclusive atmospheres where team members and guests alike are valued and celebrated.

Role Overview

Become the HR Operations for a fast-growing, inclusive hospitality organization and play a key role in establishing HR systems and processes during an exciting expansion period. This high-visibility position partners directly with the VP of HR to support operations across a geographically diverse hospitality portfolio that includes boutique accommodations, restaurants, bars, clubs, and event venues.

As part of a compact HR team managing over 500 staff members across different states and time zones, you'll enjoy considerable autonomy and the opportunity to make a real difference by creating HR structures and processes in a fast-moving, values-centered company.

Core Responsibilities Culture & Engagement
  • Facilitate programs and events that build stronger connections and teamwork among staff
  • Drive efforts to boost team member satisfaction and involvement across distributed and in-person work forces
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Manage and facilitate new hire orientation processes
  • Guide recruitment efforts from candidate sourcing to final hiring decisions
  • Collaborate with department heads to determine hiring needs and craft role specifications
Benefits & Leave Administration
  • Facilitate benefit enrollment activities and support payroll functions
  • Process and manage various leave requests (FMLA, ADA, Workers' Comp)
  • Act as the go-to resource for staff questions regarding benefit offerings and troubleshoot concerns
HR Operations & Compliance
  • Propose and execute policy revisions to maintain regulatory adherence
  • Oversee seasonal workforce visa programs including J1 and H2B processing
  • Monitor and apply evolving employment regulations at federal, state, and municipal levels (particularly NY and CA)
  • Keep personnel files, documentation, and records organized and compliant
  • Deliver practical HR support to operational teams in multiple states while ensuring uniform policy execution
Employee Relations
  • Assess termination decisions and advise on corrective action protocols
  • Address workplace concerns and clarify organizational policies
  • Support supervisors with coaching, performance improvement, and staff development efforts
  • Lead sensitive workplace inquiries with professionalism and impartiality
Systems Implementation & Process Improvement
  • Create sustainable HR structures to accommodate organizational expansion
  • Enhance HR workflows to boost responsiveness and communication effectiveness
  • Establish and document policies and standard procedures ahead of peak seasons
  • Support rollout and enhancement of ADP Workforce Now platform across HR activities
Qualifications and Desired Skills
  • Excels in remote settings - highly autonomous, well-organized, and effective when working independently
  • Demonstrated capability in performance management including analytics, evaluations, and growth planning
  • Proven track record conducting objective, comprehensive workplace inquiries
  • Hands-on experience with J1 and H2B visa procedures
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (both written and verbal) - essential for supporting our diverse team
  • Background managing HR across multiple states with solid understanding of New York and California employment regulations
  • Prior experience in hospitality settings (restaurants, bars, entertainment venues)
  • Minimum 5 years comprehensive HR experience covering employee relations, regulatory compliance, and policy management
  • Competency with Microsoft Office applications and human resources information systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred (or comparable professional experience)
Strongly Preferred
  • Background in startup or rapidly scaling organizational environments
  • Working knowledge of payroll operations
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now platform
Compensation & Benefits
