Job overview
This role is a fixed-term position until March 2027, with an annual salary of £36,000‑£40,000. It is based in Truro, with one day working from home and requires travel to other sites within Cornwall.
As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year. In this role, you will shape, drive and lead the people and inclusion change agenda for our services in Cornwall, supporting management teams with regional strategic people plans, coaching and developing them to improve organisational performance, and ensuring effective people management.
Keyresponsibilities
- Driving completion of investigations and disciplinaries – tracking progress and ensuring they are dealt with according to timescale and training management on processes.
- Supporting investigations of a more complicated nature, particularly in relation to Dignity at Work and implementing feedback to create an inclusive culture across our services.
- Providing HR training sessions for managers, including performance management and sickness absence.
- Leading on any HR feedback or improvements resulting from staff surveys.
- Championing and supporting managers in reducing sickness levels.

- Chartered membership of the CIPD or significant demonstrable experience of partnering on all aspects of people management in a senior role.
- Expert HR knowledge, including employment law, TUPE and complex employee relations cases.
- Experience in a standalone HR role.
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders, advise and influence through trusted leadership skills.
- Track record of managing and delivering multiple HR projects, planning, identifying and mitigating risk.
- Ability to work independently, drive change and adapt your approach.
- Flexibility to travel with the region where required.
