Overview
The work location for this position is 100% virtual/work from home anywhere in the US.
What You Need To Know About The JobOversee and administer HR Compliance and Policy programs to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations related to U.S. HR and employment law issues. Identify and align strategic compliance related requirements to drive focused HR initiatives, based on a solid understanding of the business. Oversee management of the leave of absence and accommodations area and the various outsourced vendor relationships.
Identify areas of opportunities for performance improvement and create internal controls to mitigate risks. Pro-actively monitor the changing regulatory landscape and develop strategies and plans to mitigate risk and cultivate a positive, trustworthy reputation for the Red Cross and the HR organization.
This role will work with Senior HR Leadership, management and colleagues to support new and ongoing initiatives for the Human Resources function. Establish collaborative relationships with the Office of General Counsel, other HR partners, business leaders, and external agencies to meet goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities- Lead the execution of identified HR compliance-related projects, including the assignment of deliverables, creation/adjustment of deliverables schedule, issue/conflict resolution, and coordination of resources. Create and deliver change management and communication plans, and end-user training as it pertains to HR compliance-related projects.
- Develop, initiate, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of compliance programs and related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Maintain and regularly update the Red Cross Employee Handbook.
- Lead and manage the Leaves of Absence and Accommodations team to ensure delivery of strong customer service and administration of Leaves/Accommodation programs in accordance with regulatory standards and supportive of the Red Cross workforce and business objectives.
- Oversee the planning, development, coordination, and administration of the equal employment opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action (AA) plans to conform to federal and state regulations and to assess degree of participation, adherence to policies and achievement of goads and timetables. Ensure appropriate company representation to enforcement and community organizations. Develop, conduct, or direct AA/EEO training by developing and distributing new and revised legislation, regulation and judicial ruling information to HR management, managers and/or employees.
- Design and develop effective reporting/analytic methodologies, strategies, and tools to meet the needs of the Red Cross business units in fulfilling regulatory and legal requirements. Analyze complex data, reports and processes to identify issues, and to formulate solutions. Work to improve data quality, collection processes and report design to meet diverse and changing needs. Ensure compliance monitoring/tracking systems are adhered to and operating smoothly and efficiently.
- Oversee coordination of all HR audits, both external and internal, with appropriate team members and subject-matter experts. Develop audit plans and defensive strategies, review audit data and summarize findings, providing recommendations for improvement and ensuring that effective action plans are developed and carried out.
Scope: people manager that interprets and administers policies, process, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate units.

What You Need To Succeed (required/minimum Qualifications)- Education:
Bachelor’s degree required* - Experience:
Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. - Management
Experience:
5 years of management experience. - Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work on a team; demonstrated collaboration and influencing skills to effectively navigate all levels in the organization; strong communication skills, both written and oral. - Preferred Experience:
managing organization-wide projects. - Travel:
May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. - Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
The annual salary range for this position is $125K - $136K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role.
