Overview
PATH is seeking a Benefits Administration Specialist to join our Human Resources Team at our main office in Los Angeles, California. Since 1984 PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) has focused on helping people experiencing homelessness through a comprehensive continuum of services. This role supports benefits program administration and inquiries within the HR department.

Salary: $27.87 to $34.41 per hour

Benefits Administration Specialist
Position Responsibilities- Conduct New Hire Benefits Orientations and prepare benefits packets for new hires, ensuring materials are current.
- Monitor and manage the Benefits email inbox; promptly respond to employee inquiries and actions, troubleshooting benefits-related issues.
- Process new benefits enrollments weekly and administer Qualifying Life Events (QLEs) in accordance with plan rules and timelines.
- Collect, review, and maintain Proof of Relationship documentation and Evidence of Insurability (EOI) forms.
- Ensure accurate benefits processing for employees transitioning between full-time and part-time status.
- Administer benefits for employees on Leave of Absence, including premium collection and open enrollment processing.
- Prepare separation and final benefits packets, process terminations in related systems, and complete COBRA separation and new-hire notice verifications in designated benefits administration systems.
- Review benefits deductions for every payroll processing and reconcile 403(b) and FSA contributions.

- PHR, SPHR, SHRM, CEBS or other certification.
- Four (4) years of experience in Human Resources with at least two (2) years focused in Benefits.
- Have employment eligibility verification
- Have or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
- Complete Tuberculosis Test, Background Screening, and Drug Test as a condition of hire
- Driving is an essential function of this position.
- Have reliable transportation
- A valid driver’s license
- Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties
- Ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage
