Kinsa is recruiting for a:
Bilingual Director of HR
Location: Bellingham, WA
Our client draws on a long and rich tradition making top-tier meat products. They are looking to add an HR Director to their team, to work out of their plant just outside of Bellingham, WA. (This not a hybrid or remote position, but relocation assistance is available.) The Human Resources Director provides strategic and hands-on leadership for all HR functions, programs, and systems, as well as daily tactical leadership within the plant.
You will partner with management, finance, and operations to drive plant success and continuous improvement.
- Relevant Bachelors degree (preferred), 7+ years of broad HR experience, including 3+ years of HR leadership. Solid experience in manufacturing, ideally food or beverage. Fluent Spanish & English required
. PHR or similar certifications highly preferred. - $175-190k base salary, 20% annual bonus potential

- Develop and administer HR goals, plans, processes, and procedures. Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment, labor, and safety laws and company policies.
- Lead, develop, and support the HR team, supervising direct reports to apply policies consistently, lead investigations, maintain documentation and support employee relations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management on employee matters, risk, and personnel decisions; provide coaching and consulting to leaders and employees.
- Champion employee relations and company culture, identify needed changes, and drive improvement initiatives. Fine tune the employer brand; recruit for corporate and leadership roles as needed. Partner with leaders on staffing strategies.
- Manage the performance management process and coach leaders on setting expectations and addressing issues. Administer compensation structures and annual merit processes. Oversee benefit programs and help employees understand and use their benefits.
- Support plant safety and risk management efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field, or equivalent experience. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of broad HR experience in a manufacturing environment, 3+ years leading an HR team. Must be a very hands-on working leader who wants to spend a lot of time on the floor with production workers.
- Strong working knowledge of HR practices, policies, and regulations, including benefits, FMLA, COBRA, FLSA, ADA, ERISA, HIPAA, workers’ compensation, and 401(k).
- Proficient with MS Office and other productivity software such as ERP, ATS and CRM systems.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
