Job Description

Are you ready to make a real impact in an organization that values strategic HR leadership? We’re looking for a dynamic HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our West Coast region team and play a key role in shaping the employee experience across our locations throughout the United States. You will partner with regional leaders and location managers spread out nationally to drive HR programs that fuel business success, engage and lead leadership through complex employee issues, strategically enhance company culture, and promote employee engagement.

What You’ll Do
  • Act as a trusted advisor to West Coast regional leadership and ~ 35 location managers, providing guidance on complex employee relations and workplace issues.
  • Lead and support key HR initiatives, including performance review process, business talent review process, and employee recognition programs.
  • Partner with regional leadership to advise on organizational changes such as promotions, restructures, and integrations.
  • Collaborate with the Legal team on employment law matters, unemployment claims, employment agreements, etc.
  • Create and deliver HR, policy, and leadership trainings to field operations teams.
  • Collaborate with managers to set strategic goals and identify employee development opportunities that will help drive the business forward.
  • Coach and guide managers on the progressive discipline process to ensure consistency throughout regions.
  • Support employee leave requests and advise management, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant labor laws.
  • Facilitate ADA accommodations through the interactive process.
  • Counsel leadership on all employee relations issues including disciplinary action, terminations, investigations in compliance with Top Build policies.
  • Lead HR projects and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
  • Identify innovative ways HR can continuously add value and improve business operations.
  • Partner with leaders to foster an engaged, diverse, and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Work closely with other HR Business Partners and utilize HRIS systems for transactions and reporting.
  • Provide timely reports on employee relations issues.
  • Partner with the Talent team to attract, hire, and retain top talent.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as needed.
What You Bring

Education &

Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR Management, or a related field.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in HR leadership, generalist roles, or related fields.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Preferred:
    Bilingual (Spanish/English) and experience working in a unionized environment.
  • California Employment Law experience, preferred
  • Working knowledge of Union environments, preferred
Skills & Expertise
  • Deep experience across multiple HR disciplines, including employee relations, recruiting, learning & development, performance management, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of HRIS systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend solutions.
  • Experience building strong relationships and driving quality/process improvements.
Travel & Work Environment
  • Travel:
    Approximately 25% (Nationally).
  • Ability to work Pacific Time Zone business hours
  • Work Environment:
    Home office-based with occasional lifting (under 10 lbs.), extended sitting, and occasional extended hours or travel based on business needs.
