Overview
Everlaw is looking for a Senior Compensation Manager to shape and operationalize our global compensation programs. You ll partner with People, Finance, Legal, and leadership to scale programs that are market-competitive, equitable and aligned with our mission and values.
This role requires strategic thinking and operational excellence, combining deep compensation expertise, a passion for data-driven decision-making, and a willingness to implement change through our Total Rewards tools (Navia, Pave, Radford, Rippling, and Sequoia to name a few!).
This is a full-time exempt position based in our Oakland, California office with a hybrid work schedule: in office M/W/Th with the option to work from home Tu/Fr.
Getting started- We’re committed to your success and want you to feel like a part of our team! You’ll go through our standard onboarding process, which will integrate you into the company with informative sessions on our product, policies, processes, and team structure and goals.
- We trust that you’ll bring experience and knowledge that will uplift and uplevel the team, but we don’t expect you to know everything on Day 1. We’re excited to find ways for you to contribute, and will create room for you to learn and grow along the way.
- Steward our strategy, and ensure that our compensation programs are clear, competitive, and compelling: In partnership with our Head of Total Rewards, Insights & Operations and the broader People Leadership Team, you’ll take stock of our compensation strategy annually, ensuring that our cash and equity enable us to attract, develop, and retain a talented team that thrives in a culture of pace and performance.
- Program manage our bi-annual compensation cycles: You’ll translate strategy to execution, leading the end-to-end rollouts of our cash and equity compensation review cycles efficiently and effectively. You’ll partner with our Finance Team on modeling, recommendations, and budget sign off; collaborate with our People Programs team to develop helpful, high quality education; and ensure the details in Pave so every Ever lawyer gets the adjustment they earned.
- Provide timely thought partnership: As new roles emerge, you’ll partner closely with hiring managers to understand the core skills required, and craft new job bands to recognize and reward these meaningfully.
- Uplevel our compensation tech stack: Throughout the year, you’ll take a holistic look at our Total Rewards tech stack and — in partnership with People Systems — continuously identify potential areas for improvement to support data-driven decision-making. If/Where it makes sense, you’ll find targeted ways to use AI to complement earned experience and pattern recognition too.
- You are a data-driven leader. You recognize the value of tried and true sources and timely signals, grounding your recommendations in data from Pave and Radford, live postings, and feedback from candidates, recruiters and managers alike. Your insights are holistic.
- Consultative collaborator. You build trust easily and are a sought-after thought partner in compensation conversations. You listen thoughtfully, incorporate perspectives where possible, and push/challenge where needed. You are comfortable working with People teams and stakeholders like Finance, Legal, Rev Ops, and Hiring Managers.
- Skilled storyteller. You communicate for impact. You synthesize detail for your audience and deliver clear messaging in 1:1, small info sessions, or company-wide Townhalls.
- Outstanding hands on operator. You roll up your sleeves to get things done with pace and quality, prioritizing outcomes.
You have the following experience…
- At least 8 years of professional experience in cash compensation, bonus/incentive program design and equity compensation.
- Experience in high growth companies across different stages (growth, late-stage, pre-IPO, post-IPO).
- Exceptional modeling skills, including advanced proficiency in Google Sheets (pivot tables, complex formulas, vlookup).
Pluses…
- Experience in go-to-market compensation and executive compensation in the UK and other non-US markets.
- Experience with analytics or business intelligence…
