The Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in supporting the overall HR function within a hybrid work environment across the United States. This position is responsible for managing a broad range of HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with federal and state employment laws. The HR Generalist acts as a trusted advisor to employees and management, fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring effective communication throughout the organization.
By handling day-to-day HR operations and contributing to strategic initiatives, this role helps drive employee engagement and organizational success. The ideal candidate will balance operational efficiency with a strong commitment to employee well-being and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations confidentially.
- Professional HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
- Experience working in a hybrid or remote work environment.
- Familiarity with benefits administration platforms and applicant tracking systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or support organizational change initiatives.
- Experience in employee engagement and talent development programs.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment processes including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and conflict resolution support.
- Administer employee benefits programs, ensuring accurate enrollment, communication, and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain and update HR records and databases, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support performance management processes including goal setting, evaluations, and development plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and assist with audits and reporting.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement HR policies and programs that align with organizational goals.
- Facilitate training sessions and employee development initiatives to promote a culture of continuous learning.
The HR Generalist utilizes strong communication and interpersonal skills daily to build trust and effectively resolve employee concerns. Analytical skills are essential for interpreting HR metrics, managing compliance, and improving processes. Proficiency with HRIS and other technology tools enables efficient management of employee data and recruitment workflows. Problem-solving skills are applied when addressing complex employee relations issues and implementing policy changes.
Additionally, organizational skills support the coordination of multiple HR functions simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate execution of responsibilities.
