Payroll Manager - Hybrid Remote

A well-established organization in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of a complex, multi-state payroll operation. This is a high-impact leadership role for a payroll professional who combines technical expertise with strong people management skills and a deep understanding of compliance.

• Direct and manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now
• Ensure accurate payment of wages, salaries, bonuses, commissions, and reimbursements
• Manage payroll deductions for benefits, retirement plans, and other employee programs
• Oversee compliance with all payroll-related tax regulations
• Drive payroll system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and integrations
• Prepare payroll analytics and reporting to support audits, finance reviews, and leadership requests
• Lead year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation, reconciliation, and filings
• Create and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and documentation to support scalability
• Act as escalation point for complex payroll issues, employee inquiries, and tax matters
• Coach, mentor, and develop payroll staff while setting performance expectations

• 8+ years of progressive payroll experience, including at 4+ years in a leadership role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
• Strong command of ADP Workforce Now required
• Advanced knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and labor laws
• Confident communicator with the ability to partner across HR, Finance, and senior leadership
