Location: New York
Our client
, a very reputable mental health clinic, is looking to hire a full time, long term temporary HR Assistant. This is a remote position but candidates must live within 1 hour of NYC. The HR Assistant will provide essential administrative support to the Human Resources department and leadership team. This role will also function as a hiring manager, helping to oversee recruitment and onboarding processes across various departments.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and monitor HR and recruiting‑related email inboxes
- Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner.
- Prepare, track, and process HR‑related documentation, including: FMLA and other leave paperwork, Offer letters and onboarding materials, Employment verification forms
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling employee information.
- Review and approve internship hours in collaboration with supervisors and academic partners.
- Track internship progress and completion.
- Complete or coordinate intern performance evaluations as needed.
- Serve as a primary hiring manager for assigned positions, including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Post job listings on various platforms and track applicants through the hiring pipeline.
- Collaborate with department leads to understand hiring needs and candidate qualifications.
Participate in onboarding and orientation for new hires.
Qualifications- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in HR or administrative support (internship experience welcome).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with employment laws and HR best practices (FMLA, ADA, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems or HRIS preferred.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Full time, M-F, 9-5
Long term temp with no scheduled end date
$23-$27 / hour
Remote (Must live within 1 hour of NYC)
