Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that helps communities recover after disasters and gets children back in school. The position is part‑time, with anticipated 20 hours weekly and is responsible for the full payroll cycle, preparing payments, handling employee data, and ensuring time completion of the payroll cycle. The payroll cycle for U.S. staff is bi‑weekly and is prepared on Monday and Tuesday.
The payroll cycle for international contractors is at the beginning of each month.
The start date for this position is ASAP.
Reporting Relationships- Reports to Comptroller
- Roles reporting to position None
- Approximate number of reports 0
- Preparation and processing of bi‑weekly payroll for 50 to 65 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with preparation and processing of monthly international payroll for 40 to 50 staff members ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Verify W2 time records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including employee data changes and tax information
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation for annual audits.
- Run payroll reports as needed for Human Resources.
- Respond to payroll related inquiries from employees and resolve issues professionally.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure seamless integration of payroll related data.
- Assist with year‑end payroll processes including W2 preparation and distribution.
- Perform other duties as required
- Education High School diploma or equivalent
- Related Experience 1+ years experience in payroll processing or related accounting roles. 1+ years experience with ADP Run, ADP Workforce Now, or Paychex.
Experience with Bamboo
HR is a plus. Multi‑jurisdictional payroll processing experience preferred. Basic understanding of payroll laws and regulations. - Special Competencies/Certifications Strong focus on attention to detail. Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office, and Slack. Applicants need to be highly organized and have a high level of accuracy. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

- Compensation:
Starting salary range of $25 / hour to $30 / hour. - Flexible working hours - but must adhere to the work schedule for processing payroll (see Position Purpose)
