Overview
We have an immediate opening for a knowledgeable HR Specialist with hospitality industry experience to support our network of marinas across California. This remote role plays a key part in fostering a positive employee experience across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with California employment laws, and supporting the unique needs of a seasonal, hospitality-driven workforce. The ideal candidate is a detail-driven, well-organized HR professional located in Central or Southern California who brings in-depth expertise in state-specific employment laws and regulations.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with company policy and upload documentation into the HRIS as required.
- Support managers and payroll to ensure accurate timecard reporting, including compliance with state-mandated meal and rest break regulations.
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding of new hires.
- Serve as an HR resource to management, assisting with employee documentation, benefit communications, and compliance with workplace policies.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and ensure timely handling of workers' comp claims, unemployment responses, and other employment-related documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 4 years of responsible HR Specialist or Generalist experience, preferably in a hospitality environment. Prior experience in a marina setting highly desired.
- Extensive knowledge of California employment laws is required.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service and a strong commitment to teamwork
- Proven ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and discretion
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage positively with diverse personalities
- Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Central or Southern California residency preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
- Professional HR certification highly preferred (PHR, SHRM)
- College degree, preferably HR focused is desired.
- HS Diploma is required.
