Human Resources Generalist
This is a hybrid position based in our Chicago/O’Hare Area office. Candidates must live within a 100-mile radius of home-office.
Pay Range: $65,000 – $70,000
YourPurpose:
As a Human Resources Generalist at the Society of Actuaries (SOA), you will serve as a key operational partner supporting talent management, HR operations, and employee engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Sr. HR Manager, you will help ensure the accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of HR programs and services that support the full employee lifecycle and reinforce SOA’s culture and organizational priorities.
This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing hands‑on HR administration with collaboration, culture-building, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:Talent Management & Employee Lifecycle
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment and onboarding activities, including recruiting logistics and pre-employment requirements.
- Support employee lifecycle milestones by coordinating 30-, 60-, and 90-day new hire reviews and ensuring required documentation is completed.
- Coordinate employee offboarding and employment transitions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and a consistent employee experience.
- Administer core HR processes including employee records management, employment verifications, and lifecycle changes.
- Serve as the primary administrator for the HRIS (ADP Workforce Now), processing employee status changes and maintaining data integrity.
- Support HR compliance activities, audits, employment eligibility verification, and required labor law postings.
- Prepare and maintain HR‑related reporting and workforce metrics.
- Manage HR‑related expense and reimbursement processes.
- Provide administrative support for HR projects, meetings, and departmental initiatives.
- Coordinate quarterly all‑staff summits in partnership with HR leadership.
- Support employee recognition and service milestone activities.
- Assist with employee engagement, DEI initiatives, and employee surveys.
- Serve as an HR point of contact for internal communication platforms such as SOA Connect.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar Human Resources role.
- Working knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and procedures.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
