Job Description & How to Apply Below
Merge Unified, which enables businesses to add hundreds of integrations to their products with a single API, and Merge Agent Handler, which empowers AI agents with secure access to thousands of third-party tools. Merge's enterprise-grade platform handles the entire integration lifecycle, from authentication and security to monitoring and maintenance. Thousands of companies trust Merge to accelerate product development, unblock sales, reduce customer churn, and save engineering resources-allowing them to focus on their core product.
Merge is looking for a strategic, hands‑on People Operations leader who knows how to build on a strong foundation and is comfortable rolling up your sleeves. You bring strong judgment, high ownership, and a bias toward action. You're comfortable operating in ambiguity, and you're great at turning it into clear programs, processes, and expectations for others.
You've helped build and scale People Ops before, and you care deeply about doing it well. You know how to build, manage, and develop a People Ops team, and you take pride in high‑quality execution. You care about employee experience and culture, but you're also great at iterating on programs. You believe great People Ops shows up in the details, the systems, and the day‑to‑day in-office moments that make work actually work.
What will you be doing?
* Work with the VP to set and own the People Operations strategy, ensuring strong foundations today and systems that scale with the business.
* Own end‑to‑end employee lifecycle programs, from onboarding through ongoing people programs and offboarding, with a focus on clarity, consistency, and experience.
* Build, manage, and develop the People Ops team, setting clear ownership, goals, and operating cadences to drive high‑quality execution.
* Own onboarding execution and facilitation, ensuring a thoughtful, standardized experience from pre‑boarding through the first 90 days.
* Partner closely with managers as a trusted people partner, supporting strong people management, team health, and accountability.
* Design and continuously improve core People Ops programs and systems, including performance and compensation cycles, core workflows, and tooling.
* Partner on office and workplace experience, working with Office Operations to ensure offices, rituals, and employee‑facing processes reinforce culture and connection.
What experience/skills are required?
* 6+ years of experience as a People Operations Generalist
* Experience setting People Operations strategy and building scalable people infrastructure and programs.
* Experience leading and developing People and/or Office Ops teams, with clear ownership and strong execution.
* Deep ownership across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding and ongoing people programs.
* Strong operational instincts and attention to detail, particularly around onboarding, documentation, and process rigor.
* Ability to partner with managers as a trusted people advisor.
* Strong judgment around employee records, confidentiality, and compliance hygiene.
* Exposure to office or workplace experience, either through direct ownership or close partnership, with an eye toward improving the employee day‑to‑day.
Compensation
* The cash compensation range for this role is $170,000 - $200,000
* Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications. In addition to cash compensation, all employees receive an equity compensation package.
Benefits
* Unlimited PTO + 10 company holidays
* 100% covered health, vision, and dental insurance
* 401K Plan
* $200 one-time home office stipend
* Free dinner when working past 7pm
