Position: Oliver Wyman - Assistant Human Capital Manager

Overview

The Opportunity: As an Assistant Human Capital Manager, you will be part of the HC Operations team that delivers proactive and business-focused HC advice and services for the UK and Ireland (headcount circa 700). The role has an employee relations focus, with responsibilities including performance management support, program, policy and procedures development and implementation. The role entails working closely with the MMC shared service providers for payroll and benefits escalations.

This is a hybrid role that will require a presence in the London office at least 3 days per week.

  • Hours:

    9am–6pm, including one hour for lunch.
Key Responsibilities
  • Consulting with management/stakeholders and providing support and daily HC guidance.
  • Providing counsel on complex employee relations matters.
  • Managing ER casework from end to end, providing pragmatic advice and guidance.
  • Delivering training and coaching on ER-related matters.
  • Providing HC policy guidance.
  • Acting as the point of escalation for the HC Coordinators and the HC Generalist on complex operational issues.
  • Driving continuous improvement in ER policies and processes, ensuring they remain fit for purpose.
  • Coaching and upskilling managers in handling employee relations matters confidently and effectively.
  • Managing flexible working requests and appeal proceedings from end to end.
  • Updating Policies & Procedures as needed.
  • Supporting internal and external audits.
  • Supporting HR leadership on projects as required.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous HR experience in a HR Manager or Business Partner capacity.
  • Strong employee relations experience.
  • Experience in a professional services environment preferred, but other large-company experience will be considered.
  • Ability to be productive, flexible and manage multiple project priorities in a complex, performance-driven environment.
  • Educational attainment of at least a Bachelor’s degree.
  • CIPD qualification at level 7.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in Workday is desirable.
