The Advocacy People is seeking a proactive, professional HR Advisor to join our small, friendly HR team in our Central Services. You’ll play a key role in supporting our mission to put people at the heart of everything we do.

As HR Advisor, you will:
- Provide professional, proactive HR support across the full employee lifecycle.
- Act as a first point of contact for employee relations, offering advice and coaching to managers and staff.
- Work with the HR Officer on the coordination of recruitment, onboarding, and induction, ensuring safer recruitment and safeguarding standards.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all HR activities.
- Support staff wellbeing initiatives and signpost to appropriate services.
- Uphold confidentiality, GDPR, and best practice in all HR processes.
- Work collaboratively within a small, supportive HR team and with managers across the organisation.
- Significant generalist HR experience (ideally 2–3 years+), preferably in the charity, not‑for‑profit, or care sector.
- Experience managing employee relations cases, recruitment, and onboarding.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidance, and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting or delivering training and using HR information systems (HRIS).
- Strong communication, influencing, and relationship‑building skills.
- A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience/willingness to study).
- Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding.
As this role is home based with occasional travel you will need to have access to public transport or own car. Flexibility with working hours, a good mobile signal and broadband service are essential.
