About the Company
We are seeking a highly skilled HR and Payroll Specialist with proven experience managing payroll and HR operations across both the United States and Canada. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations while supporting a seamless employee experience across borders.
About the Opportunity Payroll Administration- Process biweekly/monthly payroll for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain compliance with IRS, CRA, state/provincial, and local tax regulations
- Prepare and file statutory documents including W-2s, T4s, ROEs, and other year-end reports
- Reconcile payroll accounts and coordinate with Finance for audits and reporting
- Manage benefits deductions, garnishments, and cross-border compensation structures
- Support onboarding/offboarding processes for U.S. and Canadian employees
- Maintain employee records in HRIS systems and ensure data accuracy across jurisdictions
- Advise on employment standards, labor laws, and workplace policies in both countries
- Coordinate benefits enrollment, leave management, and employee relations issues
- Assist with cross-border transfers, remote work arrangements, and immigration support
- Stay current on employment law changes in both countries and update policies accordingly
- Generate reports on headcount, turnover, compensation, and other HR metrics
- Ensure data privacy compliance under PIPEDA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field
- 3–5 years of HR and payroll experience, with direct exposure to both U.S. and Canadian systems
- Strong knowledge of ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, Workday, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with U.S. FLSA, ACA, and Canadian ESA, CPP, EI frameworks
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience with cross-border employment and remote workforce management
- Bilingual in English and French (an asset)
- Certification such as PCP, CPM, or CPP (U.S.) preferred
