Role & Responsibilities Business Partnership
  • Hold regular one‑on‑one meetings with line‑of‑business leaders to stay informed about business needs and how best to support the team.
  • Communicate updates or changes related to People Team tools and processes.
Engagement & Recognition
  • Lead the annual team‑member engagement survey and action‑planning process.
  • Communicate and champion Pursuit’s recognition programs, including geography‑specific programs, and provide feedback on program enhancements.
Employee Relations
  • Serve as the point of contact for employee‑relations concerns, providing guidance to operations leaders.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into sensitive matters and bring concerns to full resolution.
  • Build manager capability on handling concerns in partnership with the Senior Manager of People.
Recruiting
  • Support year‑round and seasonal staffing by ensuring a strong candidate flow.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to deploy creative strategies to boost top‑funnel volume.
  • Lead the recruitment process for attraction‑management positions.
  • Build manager capability on tools, interview, and selection processes.
  • Deliver an engaging, comprehensive onboarding experience.
Performance Management
  • Lead the annual performance‑management process, including the launch of new tools and educating leaders.
  • Identify and address performance opportunities or issues through coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action.
Training & Development
  • Participate in training and development initiatives as identified.
  • Provide recommendations for training opportunities based on gaps.
  • Support team‑member development through succession planning.
Compliance
  • Subscribe to relevant publications to stay up‑to‑date with US and Alaska labor laws.
  • Balance Pursuit’s practices and processes with legal compliance and business needs.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred; or real‑world education in the school of hard knocks.
  • 3+ years progressive HR experience in a travel, leisure, or hospitality organization.
  • Solid understanding of HR best practices and US labor laws.
  • Strong curiosity and ability to research and develop recommendations.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and partnerships.
  • HR certifications (SHRM‑CP, HRCI‑PHR) are helpful.
Location

This is a 10‑month extended seasonal role with a two‑month unpaid leave of absence (LOA) during November and December. It will be based in the Anchorage office during the winter months and transition to field work during the operating season (March–September), typically three days per week of in‑person support and two days per week of remote work. Field locations include Denali, Talkeetna, Anchorage, and Seward.

Off‑season schedule is Monday‑Friday; on‑call support is required on Saturdays and Sundays during the operating season.
