Overview
Description
Assists with the parking/retrieval of guests’ vehicles. This position is also responsible for welcoming guests, assisting with luggage, providing directions, and any other related assistance. Monitors and maintains safety, security, and cleanliness of parking areas and report any security or safety problems.
PrerequisitesPREREQUISITES
Company associates have access to guestrooms and property. As such, character traits of honesty and trustworthiness are essential to this position and must be displayed at all times. Per company policy, potential associates must pass appropriate security clearances.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must have a clear MVR. MVR will be routinely checked.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous driving and valet experience preferred.
- Must be able to perform major life activities:
Standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating. - Must be able to lift and carry push and pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, reach, crawl, and kneel.
- Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Must be able to communicate with other associates and/or guests.
Requirements
Required Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Knowledge:
- Traffic patterns around the property.
- Valet parking procedures.
- Area shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions to assist guest inquiries.
- Entire property, staff, services, hours of operation, type of rooms, locations, rates, discounts.
- Familiar with LBA policies and procedures
- Drive and operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Able to communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors.
- Able to effectively park and retrieve guests cars without causing damage to the vehicle.
- Enjoys interacting with guests.
- Multi task, remain associate and guest service centric.
Special Requirements
- This position requires a physical presence at the hotel and is not conducive of telecommuting or remote work.
- Standing, walking for long periods of time while maintaining a friendly professional image.
- May be required to work any day/shift, including weekends.
- Random drug screens will be conducted throughout employment.
