Overview

Postdoctoral Fellow – Child Diagnostic Psychology, Denver Metro Area. Compensation $70,000.00/year.

Soar is seeking a Post Doctoral Psychology Fellow to join our interdisciplinary team. The role is well-suited to someone who wants to support young children with autism and their families and values continuity of care. Soar Autism Center is building a network of interdisciplinary clinics where children with autism and their families receive services to help them thrive. We provide naturalistic ABA therapy (ESDM), speech therapy, and occupational therapy, and we also provide diagnostic services to help families access integrated, collaborative care.

This enables continuity of care not just during transition to therapy, but while a child and family receive therapy nicians develop individualized therapy plans in coordination with families, with ambitious goals to build skills that enable children to grow into their fullest selves, prioritizing early intervention, comprehensive supportive services, and developmentally appropriate learning.

Location

We are seeking candidates in the Denver region. We currently have multiple locations in the region and the specific location may vary depending on where the direct supervisor is located. Flexibility to work from home on report writing or other non-direct tasks is available.

Responsibilities
  • The postdoctoral fellow is expected to spend 40 hours per week in training and related activities. Prior to the start of the fellowship, the fellow will meet with the supervisor to establish and agree upon the details of the training program, including specific expectations and opportunities within Soar. The foundational responsibilities of the role include:
  • Conducting ~4-5 diagnostic evaluations per week using standardized assessments for autism and differential diagnosis
    • ADOS-2, Developmental Profile (DP-4), BASC-3, other measures as clinically appropriate
  • Formulating diagnostic conclusions and treatment recommendations
  • Communicating results thoroughly with families
  • Providing high quality and efficient services, including quality reports and documentation; participate in required supervision and offered trainings
  • Additional opportunities may be available based on interest and fit with Soar’s mission, including post-diagnosis processing groups for families, research projects, and/or community outreach
Qualifications
  • Psy.

    D. or Ph.D. in Clinical or School Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university
    • Must have completed, or be in the process of completing, an APA-approved clinical internship
  • Experience in the evaluation of Autism Spectrum Disorder in children 0-5 years old
  • Experience in differential diagnosis in the context of autism evaluations
  • Understanding of effective treatment methods for autism
  • Ability to pass a background check and be qualified to work in the United States
  • Strong communication and consultation skills
